Your car’s brakes are vital to your safety when you are in your car and, as vehicle maintenance specialists in Woodstock, GA, we like to educate our clients about how to ensure that their car’s brakes are in great condition. Here are our top tips:
Your car’s braking system is fairly complex and has many different elements that need to function together for effective braking. Brake fluid is essential to transferring force into pressure to amplify braking force. Simply put, without this pressure, your foot on the brake pedal will not be able to activate the brakes. Checking the brake fluid regularly to ensure that it is at the right level goes a long way to staying safe on the road. If the fluid looks milky, it has been contaminated with water and should be replaced. You can stop in to see us for affordable brake fluid replacement.
- Inspect the brake pads and rotors
For this part of vehicle maintenance, you have to take the tires off the car. You should be able to see the wear on the brake pads and, if you can’t see much of the pad, you should visit us for a possible brake pad replacement.
Quality brake parts are essential to your safety while driving, so always be certain that you have parts you can trust. A NAPA AutoCare partner will guarantee both the parts and the labor for 24,000 miles or two years for extra peace of mind.
